REGISTERED CHARITY No 1146083

This information has been put together by Edenbridge PTFA especially for you, as a new family

joining our school community.

Starting school is an exciting time for the whole family. Studies show that there’s a direct link between parental involvement and how well children do, so why not get involved from the start!

This page provides you with information about Edenbridge PTFA and lets you know how you can join in.

Who are we?

We are made up of a committee and volunteers. Everyone is integral to the success of the PTFA.

Lucie Lovell – Chair

Elected – April 2025

Lucie lives in Edenbridge and works as a Health Advisor and trainer with the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. Alongside her healthcare career, she also runs a creative side business designing and making bespoke cake toppers. Lucie’s artistic eye and attention to detail will be a valuable asset in any collaborative setting. She is also a parent, with her son currently attending Edenbridge Primary School.

James Osborne – Secretary

Elected – February 2025

Also known as Mr. Osborne, as he works at the school, James lives in Edenbridge and is a dedicated teaching assistant at Edenbridge Primary School. Outside of school hours, he runs his own freelance communication consultancy business, balancing both roles with commitment and energy. Known for his exceptional shorthand skills, James ensures meetings are well-documented and run efficiently.

He is also a proud parent, with his daughter attending Edenbridge Primary, where he is also a school governor.

Jenna Higgins – Treasurer

Elected – February 2025

Jenna lives in Lingfield but remains deeply committed to her daughter’s education at Edenbridge Primary, valuing the consistency and quality of the school community. She is a registered Operating Department Practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), currently working for the NHS. In her role, Jenna leads a large team and manages departmental operations, often in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. Her ability to stay calm under stress is matched by her leadership skills and strategic thinking.

Why do we have a Parent, Teacher and Friend’s Association?

Edenbridge PTFA is an essential stand alone charity that helps raise funds to support the school in providing equipment and or activities to enrich the school environment for all our children.

We hold disco’s, cake sales, ice lolly sales in the warmer weather and our very popular Elfridges at Christmas time. We are looking to add to our list of events. We have several volunteers – both parents and staff and are always on the lookout for more, especially to help run our bigger events. Without this crucial help from volunteer’s these events will not be possible.

Our last financial year we raised funds for a new sports hall floor and outdoor activity boards for the children to enjoy during breaktime.

How can you help?

By signing up as a volunteer, you are joining us in our mission to enrich the school environment for our children. Join us in collaborating with the senior leadership team at Edenbridge in the decision-making on how funds raised are spent and what events we run.

You can participate as little or as much as you like, even helping once a year makes a huge difference to the events we can run.

You do not have to attend every meeting, although you might enjoy the social aspect. Children are always welcome and we will always circulate minutes of meetings held so no one misses out.

You can join at anytime during the school year, contact us at edenbridgeptfa@gmail.com
