Keeping Parents Informed

Parent consultation evenings are held termly as follows:-

Autumn Term:

Formal consultations near half-term to discuss how your child has settled in and what are his/her immediate targets for all year groups.

Procedure for Secondary Education talk for parents of pupils in Year 5 and 6. Individual meetings for those parents who would find this helpful.

Spring Term:

Formal meetings to discuss your child’s progress and their annual report for pupils in Years 1 to 6.

Formal meeting to discuss progress and areas for development for pupils in Reception.

Summer Term:

Formal meeting to discuss your child’s progress and end of year achievements and plans for the coming year for all year groups.

Early Years Annual Report shared with parents of children in Reception.

Open Mornings:

The school has a series of open morning during the year when it is open to current parents and parents of prospective children. On these occasion you are warmly invited to see the school in action assisted by Year 6 guides.

Reports:

Every child in Years 1 to 6 receives an annual written report in March and test and attendance data in July.

Every child in Reception receives a report in July following the completion of assessments at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Records:

Records are kept of children’s progress in the National Curriculum subjects. Progress is reviewed on a termly basis with Senior Leadership in the school.

Pastoral Care :

All members of staff regard pastoral care as part of their daily responsibilities.  Class teachers are always willing to discuss parents’ concerns at a mutually agreed time.

Do not hesitate to come and see your child’s teacher if you feel he/she has any persisting worries in school. A quick visit to sort out the problem can prevent sleepless nights and much anxiety.

In addition, we have Mrs Perner, our Family Engagement Worker, and Miss Watts, our Children’s Well-being Manager, who work to support children and families in the school.
