Myths and Legends, Our own fruit cocktail, Mindstorm Lego robots
In Mr Laker's class, we have done loads of fun stuff and we have looked at Myths, legends and traditional stories. We were able to design our own mythical creature, create our own hero and then write about them in our own story. We also had a Caribbean week, where we designed our own pirate stories, made a fruit cocktail, produced and performed our own Caribbean poem and, best of all, we got to dress up in bright Caribbean clothing!
We had a really exciting afternoon in an arranged workshop where we were able to play with Mindstorm Lego kits. We had to program the robot to travel around a floor map without touching any of the sides. It took lots of patience and reprogramming before we got it right, but we had great fun in the process. At the end of the lesson the organiser who was teaching us showed us what we could do with lots of patience… he made them dance to music, which was really cool to see!
Finally, we went to the Dover Museum where we took part in a Tudor Art Workshop. It was a really great day, but one of the best bits was coming home and our original coach had broken down, so they sent a black V.I.P coach to take us back in style, which was really swish!!!
